Eurojackpot odds are calculated using the parimutuel system. This means: The total stakes from a draw flow — after deduction of taxes, fees and the share for lottery providers — into a common prize pool. This pool is then distributed proportionally across the 12 prize classes.
The actual odds per prize class result from the respective quota share divided by the number of winners in that class. If a prize class has many winners, the individual odds decrease. If it has few winners, they increase accordingly. That’s why odds fluctuate from draw to draw — even within the same prize class.

The Eurojackpot starts at €10 million and grows with each draw without a jackpot winner. The absolute cap is €120 million. When this limit is reached, a mandatory payout is triggered: The jackpot must be won in the next draw. If there is no winner in Class 1, the amount is paid out to winners of the next lower class.
Prize Class 2 — Special Rule: Unclaimed prizes in Class 2 (5+1) carry over to the next draw. This means prizes of several hundred thousand to over one million euros can accumulate even without a jackpot winner.
