In Eurojackpot, 5 of 50 main numbers plus 2 of 12 Euro numbers are drawn — resulting in C(50,5) × C(12,2) = 95,344,200 possible total combinations. For each prize class, the formula P = [C(5,r) × C(45,5-r)] / C(50,5) × [C(2,e) × C(10,2-e)] / C(12,2) is applied, where r is the number of correct main numbers and e is the number of correct Euro numbers.

Where does the statistics data come from?

Our database contains all official Eurojackpot draw results since the first draw on March 23, 2012 — a total of 940 documented draws. The data comes from officially published results of the participating lottery companies. Each entry is checked for plausibility: five different main numbers between 1 and 50 as well as two Euro numbers between 1 and 12. The database is regularly updated after each draw (Tuesday and Friday).

How many combinations are there in Eurojackpot?

The mathematical calculation of combinations is exactly possible via the binomial coefficient: For the main numbers, there are C(50,5) = 2,118,760 different combinations of 5 numbers from 50. For the Euro numbers, there are C(12,2) = 66 combinations of 2 from 12. In total, that gives 2,118,760 × 66 = 95,344,200 total combinations. However, what cannot be calculated is which combination will come up in the next draw — each draw is an independent random event.

What are Euro numbers?

Euro numbers form the second number pool in Eurojackpot. In addition to the 5 main numbers (from 1-50), 2 Euro numbers are drawn from a pool of 1-12. Both Euro numbers must match for the jackpot (Prize Class 1). Since March 25, 2022, the Euro number pool includes 12 numbers (previously 10). Euro numbers affect multiple prize classes: With 5 correct main numbers and 0, 1 or 2 correct Euro numbers, three different prize classes result (3, 2 and 1).
